Rajabhatkhawa, which literally means “rice offered to the king”, is a place steeped in legend. According to folklore, local tribes once offered rice here to a traveling king, hence the name. How to Reach
By Air: If you are traveling by air, then Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri will be the nearest airport.
By Train: If you are traveling by rail, then you have to get down at Alipurduar Jn/ New Alipurduar Station.
By Road: You can also reach Rajabhatkhawa from Siliguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar.
7:30 AM – Depart from Alipurduar Town Drive through forest roads (~30 mins). Optional stop for tea/snacks at a forest-side local vendor.
8:00 AM – Arrive at Rajabhatkhawa Village Walk around the village lanes and visit handmade bamboo craft stalls.
9:30 AM – Visit the Nature Interpretation Centre Learn about the forest ecosystem, endangered species, and tribal heritage through displays, videos, and artifacts.
11:00 AM – Watchtower Visit & Short Forest Walk Walk to the forest watchtower to try your luck at spotting wildlife in natural surroundings. Accompanied by local guides who share tribal folklore and survival traditions.
